On Thursday, January 5, 2023, The Posse Foundation Inc. – New Orleans Chapter named Amayieh Davis, a Senior student at St. Katharine Drexel Preparatory School and member of the Class of 2023, a recipient of a Posse Scholarship. The Posse – New Orleans Chapter awards 70 high school students’ scholarships to some of the best colleges and universities in the nation. The Posse New Orleans chapter partners with: Case Western Reserve University, Illinois Wesleyan University, Texas A&M University, Tulane University, University of Notre Dame, and Villanova University.
Amayieh Davis’s Posse Scholarship provides a full-tuition scholarship for four years to the University of Notre Dame, along with weekly faculty mentoring, pre collegiate support, collegiate retreats, career readiness and other student support.
On Wednesday, January 18th beginning at 1:30 PM (CST) St. Katharine Drexel Prep will host a ceremony to recognize the selection of Prep’s first Posse Scholarship recipient, Amayieh Davis, and the acknowledgement of her academic and leadership success. The event will be live streamed on this page of St. Katharine Drexel Prep’s website and on its social media pages on Wednesday, January 18th 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm (CST).
Posse Scholarship recipients demonstrate extraordinary academic and leadership potential within their high school or community, be committed to their education, be interested in teamwork and diversity, demonstrate strong academic potential, and showcase characteristics of a positive, motivated, talented, and ambitious student.
Posse New Orleans was established in 2011. Posse works with teachers, counselors, and community leaders of New Orleans, who help identify incredible high school students. Each Posse chapter partners with particular colleges and universities who continue each year to invest in the program and the belief in support of our future generation through support of additional Posse Scholars. Posse recruit’s tomorrow's leaders and supports them through college and beyond. Posse fosters a network of alumni who represent the next generation of leaders upon their college graduation through their Posse National Alumni Advisory Council, The Alumni Leadership Conference, The Ainslie Alumni Achievement Award, and Graduate School Affiliation.
