“Forensic Day” hosted by NOPD Crime Laboratory - National Forensic Science Week 2023

New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) Crime Laboratory hosted “Forensic Day” for High Schoolers on Tuesday, Sept 19th as part of National Forensic Science Week 2023 (Sept 17 - 23, 2023). Our students toured the lab, participated in forensic activities and Q&A sessions. NOPD’s goal is to build a bridge with youth interested in Forensic Science; allowing them to engage, ask questions, and learn more about the field. It is their hope that this program may foster their interest in forensics beyond high school, as forensics plays a vital role in our criminal justice system. Our students had a great time learning and engaging in activities at the Crime Laboratory.
